Manlleu, Barcelona

We've now spent two weeks "up north" in Barcelona, staying in a beautiful town named Manlleu that was founded 1100 years ago. We've been flooded with blessings staying here. One of the most notable: through a series of unexpected circumstances, our hosts were able to give us our own apartment (!) belonging to a woman they've never met, who agreed to let us stay here while she was out of town. Incredible! Another blessing has been the hospitality of our hosts; the Alfaro family has had us over for lunch every day, and has happily included us in their lives since we've arrived.

Our ministry work has included speaking at a lot of cell groups, going prayer meetings, prayer-walking through town, leading a women's group, running Sunday morning Sunday school, doing balloons and face painting at the mercadillo, and helping out with the church's first youth group meeting. On top of that, we got to go on a "field trip" of sorts to a beach town called Malgrat de Mar and hang out with a church and youth group, fellowshipping at the beach and staying overnight with host families - we were really blessed by the warmth and love of that congregation as well.

Manlleu has been a warm mix of worship, teaching, and simple conversation; we've really been met with open arms by this church and have had heart after heart opened up to us in cell groups, church services, and beach days alike. God has been so faithful with His words here: the theme for this time has been refreshment. We've been refreshed as much as anyone, but God has also allowed us to be refreshers and restorers of His faithful children here, who have been pushing through tough spiritual territory for years. Thank You, God, for Manlleu!!
